I feel for you dude. Paypal is a nightmare for a lot of people. Same thing happened to me at the airport in Manila. I gave all the money to my girl and thought I was getting on the plane. I'm always worried about that crap when I leave the country. Good thing I've only left it once in my adult life and that was just to Mexico. Usually the best solution (within the states) is to just carry cash, but that's not really an easy option when you're leaving the country. Dang.
