Alright folks, well, Lenie and I have a Netflix membership, and because Lenie is somewhat more cultured than I am, we have been renting some unusual movies.  Many of the movies are obviously from the Philippines.  I have decided to start reviewing some of these just in case anyone wants to try any of these titles out.

First up is Bakit Di Totohanin

This movie stars two of the Philippines most popular actors Judy Ann Santos and Lenie’s big time crush Piolo Pascual.  Kate (Judy Ann) plays the masculine daughter of a former boxing champion.  Paul (Piolo) is a former boxing star trained by her father.  The conflict occurs when Kate’s grandmother loses her son’s boxing gym in a bet.  In order to win the gym back, Kate must win in a boxing competition.  Reluctantly, she calls on Paul to help train her.  At first they must reconcile differences, however after some time, love ensues.

This is a Tagalog movie, and for those out there who don’t understand Tagalog, subtitles are most useful.
