Halloween Pictures
Well, it has been a few days since I posted on here, so I thought I would give a quick update. The other day (like 2 weeks ago) Lenie and I were getting ready for Halloween by carving a pumpkin. As you can see from the pictures below, we were really proud about our efforts. Strangly enough, with all my awesome skills, pumpkin carving is not one of them. Lenie comes from a long line of wood carvers in the family, and apparently those carving skills transfer over to pumpkins as well. We tried to make a “scary face” pumpkin. I started cutting it up myself, but apparently I wasn’t “good enough” so I let Lenie take over and fix my work.
Shortly after Halloween, Lenie decided that she was ready for Christmas decorations, so we have gone and bought a Christmas tree which is being desplayed proudly during the first week of November. In the Philippines, people usually start setting up for Christmas in September, so we aren’t that early. Pictures of that are to come.

Looks much better than ours, after several trips to the ER over the years from trying to carve stubborn pumpkins we have given up. Now we just use markers.

That’s one great looking Jack-o-lantern. Do they really start decorating for Christmas as early as September? I’m looking forward to seeing pics of your Christmas decorations – roll on the holidays

Great pics, I love Halloween and I enjoy seeing other people celebrating it as well. I think we should celebrate Halloween starting after Labor day and have it go through Oct 31st.

I think I’m the worst pumpkin carver evar. I did however build a life sized satin lined coffin this past year. It’s what the wife wanted for Chrismas. She’s a bit of a weird one, but she loves Halloween. =)

Hi Jeff And Lenie,
When I first saw the picture of the pumpkin I nearly fell of my chair. I thought you had beheaded my mother-in-law.
Then I realized what it was….. never mind. Looks like I am stuck with the old witch.
All the best

Carving the pumpkin’s innards looked messy but the finished product was worth all the fuss. It looked like you had some great time doing it together. Were you able to put a light inside that thing? I could imagine it looking great.
